Renting a quality home at an affordable price

If you are struggling to get on the housing ladder or cannot afford private sector rents, have you considered renting directly from bdht?

bdht, Bromsgrove’s largest provider of affordable housing, is now offering an alternative to the private rented sector through a scheme called Intermediate Market Renting (IMR) which allows you to live in a new house or apartment at a reduced monthly rent.

How do I qualify for cheaper rent through IMR?

IMR is when you rent a property but only pay 80% of the open market rent. Because we are an affordable housing provider and not for profit, we are able to provide quality homes to people living in the Bromsgrove district at below market rents.

There are some set criteria you need to meet: your household income is less than £60,000, you cannot afford a suitable home through one of the low cost home ownership schemes or on the open market, you are not a home owner and you must be able to pay the rent from your own income and not claim housing benefit. You don’t need to be on a housing waiting list to qualify.

The benefits include the security of a six or 12 month fi xed term tenancy agreement, your deposit being protected in one of the government’s sponsored schemes and your property being professionally managed by bdht.
